Private Jet Charter Destinations in India

Private jet charter destinations in India depend on the airfield at the far end: its runway, its facilities and its opening hours. So trip planning starts with the airfield, not the aircraft.

City charter guides

Delhi

Private jet charter in Delhi often has lower positioning costs (flying the aircraft to you), as more aircraft are based nearby. The airfield matters too.

Mumbai

Private jet charter in Mumbai is shaped by slots and parking more than distance, because the main airport is busy and the city sits on a narrow peninsula.

Bengaluru

Private jet charter in Bengaluru flies from Kempegowda International Airport, north of the city at about 3,000 ft, with a runway long enough for any jet.

Hyderabad

Private jet charter in Hyderabad can use Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with one of India’s longest runways, or the older Begumpet Airport in the city.

Chennai

Private jet charter in Chennai flies from Chennai International Airport, near sea level with a 12,000 ft runway. Plan around the monsoon season.

Kolkata

Private jet charter in Kolkata flies from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, near sea level, with a runway of almost 12,000 ft.

Goa

Private jet charter to Goa lands at Dabolim (GOI) in central Goa or Manohar International (GOX) at Mopa in the north. Pick the one nearer your stay.

Jaipur

Private jet charter in Jaipur flies from Jaipur International Airport, about 230 km from Delhi, close enough that a helicopter is a real alternative to a jet.

Udaipur

Private jet charter to Udaipur lands at Maharana Pratap Airport, whose 7,500 ft runway suits business jets and turboprops but can rule out the largest aircraft.

Dehradun

Charter to Dehradun lands at Jolly Grant Airport, the gateway to Rishikesh, Mussoorie and the Char Dham; helicopters fly on to places with no runway.

What decides a charter destination

  • Runway length and surface: the first check, and the one that rules out the most aircraft
  • Approach aids (equipment that guides landings), which decide what is possible in poor visibility
  • Opening hours, and whether the airfield is licensed for night flights
  • Ground handling, fuel and parking, which not every airfield has
  • For helicopters: a landing site rather than a runway, with an approach path and permission

All of these are checked at both ends of a trip before an aircraft is suggested. This is routine work. It is why a charter enquiry gives you options rather than an instant price.

How charter destinations work

India has far more aerodromes (airfields) than airports with scheduled flights. 216 are recorded in the reference below, across 36 states and union territories. Of these, 152 are recorded as operational with an assigned code. Most travellers know only a handful of airports. That gap is the main reason to charter.

A city guide is published here only when there is something specific and true to say about chartering to or from it. Cities whose operating facts are not yet confirmed are left out on purpose. A page that just swaps in a new city name helps nobody, and that is what the previous version of this site did.
