About the Textron Bell 407

Its four-blade main rotor sets the 407 apart from earlier single-engine models in the family. It cuts vibration noticeably, and vibration is what makes an hour in a light helicopter tiring. For you as a passenger, that means arriving ready to work rather than needing to sit down.

It sits in a useful middle ground. It is cheaper to run than a light twin, and more comfortable and capable than the smallest singles. It is also common in operator fleets, so availability tends to be better than for rarer types. On a short-notice charter, that is often what decides the booking.

It still has one engine, so the same operating rules apply as for any single. It does not carry a large group.
